Connect to your router from anywhere in your home!

Meet your new best friend, the Powerline Ethernet Adapter.

Powerline adapters extend your home network by using your home's electrical wiring instead of an Ethernet cable. This makes powerline a great way to get a high-quality connection to distant parts of your house, which can also relieve stress on your Wi-Fi network.

How do I use it?

1
Connect Router to one (1) Powerline Ethernet Adapter using one (1) Ethernet Cable. Then plug the Powerline Ethernet Adapter into the electrical outlet.
2
Connect your device (Computer, TV, Phone) to the other Powerline Ethernet Adapter using one (1) Ethernet Cable. Then plug the Powerline Ethernet Adapter into an electrical outlet.
3
In about a minute both adapters will "link" to each other (green lights) after which you will be connected via ethernet directly to your router!

Frequent Questions

Can a Powerline Ethernet Adapter extend my WiFi as well?

Yes. various models can extend your existing WiFi allowing it to reach further in your home.

Is a Powerline Ethernet Adapter the same as a WiFi Range Extender?

No. While they may look the same they work in very different ways. Powerline Ethernet Adapters link to each other and your router via the electrical system in your home while WiFi Range Extenders link to each other and your router via a wireless network. You can however get a Powerline Ethernet Adapter with a built-in WiFi Extender . :)

Do they come with an extra electric outlet?

Yes. Some models have one and sometimes two outlets built into them so you don't have to lose an outlet. Shop models with outlets

Can I plug it into a power strip or extension cord?

No. While it may work, the short answer is no as it usually prevents the adapters from connecting. Please check with the manufacturer for more information.

Will it be faster and more stable than WiFi?

Yes. However there are limitations such as if you have a very old electrical system in your home.

Which speed version should I get? A gigabit or is lower OK?

Depends. The answer depends on your current internet speeds and future speeds you may have. If you have less than 1Gbps uploads/downloads you can go with a lower speed/priced model. If you have 1Gbps or higher, or should you wish to future proof the purchase, choose one labeled or described with "Gigabit".
