Important!
You will need a headset in order for your students to hear you with this setup during recording or streaming.

Why do I need a Microphone with this setup?

  • While the iRig Stream has the ability to have a powered mic plugged directly into it, you will not be able to hear yourself or control the overall volume of your voice to ensure it is higher than the music. This is especially true with lower quality microphones. For this reason I chose to use a Line Mixer for amplification and control.

  • When using streaming apps such as Zoom or ZIN Studio on your device, the iRig Stream will only be recognized as the audio source if it's plugged in before you open that app. You cannot just talk, plug-in, and then unplug for your classes. Native recording apps are not affected by this.

Already have a Mic & Mixer Audio Setup?
If you already have a Mic & Mixer Audio Setup, you can simply output to the iRig Stream instead of your computer. Also, watch the end of the video for tips on how to incorporate this setup for simulcasting both on your device and computer at the same time.
1
Connect Wireless Mic Receiver into IN 1 of Mixer.

2
Connect Music device into IN 2 of Mixer using 3.5mm Aux cable.

3
JUST MIXER S / JUST MIXER 2 (USA, UK, Netherlands, Germany, & Others)
Connect one end of Headphone Splitter to iRig Stream using a 3.5mm to RCA Cable.

MOUKEY MIXER (Canada & Others)
Connect Headphone Splitter to Mixer "Output" jack using using (1) 3.5mm to 1/4" Adapter. Then connect one end of Headphone Splitter to iRig Stream using a 3.5mm to RCA Cable.

4
JUST MIXER S / JUST MIXER 2 (USA, UK, Netherlands, Germany, & Others)
Connect one end of 3.5mm Aux cable in to OUT port on Mixer and the other end into Aux / Line In of speaker.

MOUKEY MIXER (Canada & Others)
Connect one end of 3.5mm Aux cable in to remaining splitter output port and the other end of the 3.5mm Aux cable into Aux / Line In of speaker.

5
PLAY MUSIC AND TALK ON MIC while adjusting the "LEVEL" knob on the iRig Stream. Turn the knob until the light turns GREEN (OK). Some "High" readings are OK especially when talking on the mic. However make sure it does not do that when just playing music.

6
Start streaming, recording, or whatever else you want! :)
